Virtual chronic pain education for health care providers

By Pain BC

In November, we observed National Pain Awareness Week (NPAW), a time to raise awareness of chronic pain and call for action to make pain a priority. It’s also a time to recognize the important role of health care providers in pain education and stigma reduction. One way to stay up-to-date on pain education is by participating in initiatives like the BC ECHO for Chronic Pain.

Offered by Pain BC with funding from Shared Care, the provides free, sustained mentorship and education in best-practice pain care to health care providers across British Columbia. This ECHO is a virtual learning community of specialists and community health care providers aiming to improve care for complex pain cases, particularly in rural and remote communities. ECHO sessions occur monthly and consist of an instructive presentation followed by case presentations from session participants.

The next ECHO cycle will be held monthly from January to April 2023.

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the British Columbia Chapter for up to 1 MainPro+ Credits.
