GP-Specialist Referral Improvement Project

Engage GPs and Specialists in the WRSS area and encourage adoption of shared principles that support the BC College of Physician and Surgeons’ guidelines for referrals between GPs and Specialists. Improve access to patient information prior to initial consultation; reduce administrative burden, increase efficiency and continuity of care; improve patient experience. 

Bring SPs (including hospitalists and emergency physicians) and GPs together to identify realistic areas of improvement for communication and to identify the next steps.
